☆ Wilhelm van Astrea
I have nothing against this character because he is the first person among opposite side to understand Subaru.
He has both cruel and caring side in him and the best neutral character. At first, he look down upon Subaru but he grows respect to Subaru when Subaru help him defeats the white whale. He becomes Subaru most trusted ally.
☆ Pandora
She is the witch of vainglory and sole reason of suffering because she created the witch cult in Satella name.

☆ Julius Juukulius
He is strict with sense of nobility. He follows the code of chivalry to the letter and causes bad relationship with Subaru for a while.
He is purple-haired imperial knight and Anastasia’s knight. During Subaru shameful outburst in the castle Ep.13 he tries his best to calm Subaru down. He tarnishs his career when he challenges Subaru in mock fight and berates Subaru because he believes Subaru unworthy to be called a knight. The real reason is he is trying to save Subaru from retaliation of other knights.
At first, he looks down upon Subaru but they reconciles after Hakugei battle. Julius respects Subaru and calls Subaru friends. They even fought side by side.
☆ Emilia
Emilia is female protagonist and faces prejudice because of similar appearance to witch of envy, Satella.
I don’t say she is bitch but her annoying or flaws stems from her ignorant, idealistic and naivety. Unfortunately, in politics world, it’s full of deceit and ignorant can’t be excused.
She is too frail and soft, politics or throne never really suits her even though she is one of the five royal candidate.
☆ Archbishop of Sins
Need I say more? They are mental deranged bunch of fanatics. They believe they will gain Satella’s love while in truth witch cult has nothing to do with Satella because it was Pandora who created it.
Subaru Natsuki isn’t powerless or deranged fool like the audience believe. He can’t be compared to Julius just because he lost in mock battle. First of all, Julius is master swordman, great knight and protected by quasi-spirits of 6 attributes. Even Marcus, the head of imperial knight says so. Julius is an adult and Subaru is just a teenager. Ram and Rem are onii/demon with horn they will be stronger than human. During mock fight he just as powerful as any average knight, it is just he picks the most powerful opponent, Julius.
In entire series we will watch the silly and cringy attitude of Subaru. We are too focused on main protagonist that we forget most other characters being jerk towards and look down upon Subaru for no reason. It’s natural for human being to react the same way or people call it “projection”. Subaru projects the unfair treatment he faces back to another person.
Roswaal is reason for tribulations faced by Subaru. He can train Subaru personally but he don’t. He set up Subaru to kick up fuss in the palace and he already plans it from the beginning.
Despite resolve and everything with what Subaru choose and do his fate played by invisible string by larger puppeteer. Yes, Subaru is merely puppet unless the author makes Subaru to think outside the box or the matrix of the rezero illusionary universe. He needs to follow his own path . Actually the easy way out is just that easy, he need to stop overly-obssesion feeling towards Emilia. When it come to Emilia he just can’t think straight. He must find a way out of that silly Re:zero universe.
The only tolerable and kind character in Rezero universe are Reinhard and Julius.
Ps: I hope at the end of series he will turn into powerful sage and pass judgement and seek revenge towards stupid arrogant royal candidates and the people who abuse him. He is reincarnation of Daikenja Flugel and former Satella lover. I doubt Tappei Nagatsuki will turn Subaru into powerful being because he is enjoying torturing main character in his BDSM way.
